When audiences see "Fast Five" in theaters, they'll not only get the usual "The Fast and The Furious" franchise mix of fast cars and crazy high-speed stunts, they'll also get a "epic fight scene," says star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
In the film Johnson plays Diplomatic Security Service agent Luke Hobbs who is on the heels of Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) in Rio de Janeiro.
"You have the opportunity to create a really cool character but one that also that has to be intense," Johnson told media outlets of his character at the film's premiere in Rio De Janeiro on April 25. "He has to be a dominant beast of a man because he's coming after the franchise's heroes. I love that opportunity. "
"The action sequences are like nothing you've ever seen," Vin Diesel said at the film's premiere. "I was blown away when [Director] Justin [Lin] showed me the previews of the train sequence and the vault heist."
He added, "The action scene I'm most proud of is the fight scene between Hobbs and Dom, played by Dwayne Johnson and myself. That fight sequence took three weeks after learning the choreography and then another week of shooting it. "
"At the end of the week, we were both dead and we looked at each other and realized we just made a fight for the ages," Diesel said. "We just made a fight scene that will be remembered forever."
Johnson also seemed pretty amazed by the fight. "Every generation has wanted to see this, this fight scene -- this epic fight scene -- between two guys," he said. "I wish I would've seen a fight between Schwarzenegger and Stallone back in the 80s, even in the 90s. Or even see Bruce Willis in the mix somehow. "
Johnson has starred in films such as "The Scorpion King," "Tooth Fairy" and "Faster." He is currently shooting the movie "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" and is also set to star in "Arabian Nights" as Sinbad.
The film also see the return of several characters from the franchise's sequels including Walker's "2 Fast 2 Furious" co-stars Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris, Sung Kang from "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift" and Tego Calderon and Don Omar from "Fast & Furious."
