It appears a custody dispute may have led to a double homicide in Costa Mesa on Tuesday night.

Authorities say a 32-year-old Emily Ford and her 62-year-old father, Russell Ford, were found shot to death inside the home on the 3400 block of Santa Clara Circle at about 6 p.m. Costa Mesa police say Emily Ford had been involved in a custody dispute with her ex-husband, Robert Lehmann, over a 7-year-old daughter.

Lehmann was taken into custody at the home. The daughter was not there at the time of the shooting, and Emily Ford's baby was found unharmed in a car nearby.

According to the Orange County Register, Lehmann called police to report the shooting.

A semi-automatic handgun was also found at the scene.
