Justin Bieber took home a People's Choice Webby Award on Tuesday for his April Fool's takeover of the comedy website FunnyorDie.com, which he turned into "Bieber or Die."
The Webby Awards were created to recognize Internet achievements and are presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, a group of Internet experts and professionals.
FunnyorDie.com, which was co-founded by Will Ferrell and comedic screenwriter Adam McKay, took home nine Webby Awards. Other winners include Conan O'Brien, whose website TeamCoco.com won for best celebrity or fan site and "Angry Birds" won for the best game, reports Time magazine.
Bieber is currently on tour in Australia, where he was pelted with eggs on-stage in Sydney on Friday night. The 17-year-old pop star managed to narrowly avoid the egging and didn't skip a beat dancing as two eggs smashed at his feet and another four hit the front of the stage.
On Monday, Bieber invited a bullied teen on-stage during one of his Melbourne concerts. Casey Heynes, the 16-year-old student who shot to fame when a video of him body-slamming a bully went viral, received a round of applause and introduced Bieber's next song, "Never Say Never," reports the UK's Daily Mail.
"Everybody give it up for this kid," Bieber told the screaming fans. "I just wanted to say, he is very inspirational, he shows other people to stand up for what they believe in."
