Ronald Reagan's handwritten note cards unveiled at library

SIMI VALLEY, Calif.

"The important thing about these notes is that you'll find them sprinkled throughout his most famous speeches both as governor and as president of the United States," said John Heubusch of /*Reagan Library*/.

Written on index cards, the collection provides a unique insight into the president's core beliefs.

"To Ronald Reagan, the size, the scope of the government was quite troubling. You'll find throughout the quotes that he collected, all sorts of expressions about how we need to be quite careful that the role of government did not impede upon the liberty of the individual," said Heubusch.

The quotes have also been made into a book called, "The Notes: Ronald Reagan's Private Collections of Stories and Wisdom." Besides quotes from famous statesmen, Reagan fans will also find humor--Reagan loved a good joke.

While he inspired many, Reagan was inspired too. And now we can all see how those other great figures in history helped shape his views and the message he was famous for.
