Jillian Michaels, who is set to leave the weight loss show "The Biggest Loser" in weeks, will later this year become a co-host on the syndicated daytime talk show "The Doctors."

Michaels, a 37-year-old trainer and health and wellness expert, will also serve as a special correspondent on Dr. Phil McGraw's syndicated therapy series "Dr. Phil," "where she will focus on similar lifestyle issues," CBS said in a statement obtained by OnTheRedCarpet.com.

Michaels announced months ago that she would leave "The Biggest Loser" after the finale of the current 11th season, which airs on May 24, and was interested in taking a year off from television to focus on her attempt to adopt a child. She had been featured as a fitness trainer on the NBC weight loss reality series on and off since 2004.

"The move I am making is gonna allow me to help way more people way more often in a much broader way than just diet & exercise," Michaels said on her Twitter page on Friday, May 6.

Michaels added that she would begin her new job on "The Doctors," which is distributed by CBS, in the fall of 2011.

Michaels signed a multi-year deal to join the team of health experts on "The Doctors," CBS said. The show debuted in 2008 and features professionals such as E.R. physician Dr. Travis Stork; OB/GYN Dr. Lisa Masterson; cosmetic and reconstructive surgeon Dr. Drew Ordon and pediatrician Dr. Jim Sears.

"Gonna make a huge announcement in about 12 hours... can you guess what it is?" Michaels said on her Facebook page on Thursday. "And no... I didn't get my kid yet :( So don't suggest that. It'll just make me want to cry."

She announced her new "Doctors" and "Dr. Phil" roles in a message posted on Friday, saying: "Here is the big news. I can't wait to be with you guys 5 days week on an uplifting, informative, entertaining platform where we can have share a more intimate relationship with one another. I'm excited! Hope you are too!"

In recent years, Michaels appeared as a guest on several episodes of "The Doctors," including one that focused on female issues and quirks, during which the fitness expert spurred a man to walk in a woman's shoes - literally - to demonstrate why many women experience pain due to their choice of footwear.

"I could not be more excited about joining such an amazing show!" CBS quoted Michaels as saying about her move. "This is literally the most informative show in daytime, and it allows me to continue to educate people on how to make powerful health choices enabling them to take control of not only their physical well-being, but every facet of their lives.

Michaels launched her own program on NBC, "Losing It With Jillian", which ran for one season in 2010. "The Biggest Loser" has hired two more trainers for the show - Cara Castronuova and Brett Hoebel.
