Angela Bassett donned a chiffon one-shoulder, aqua blue, knee-length dress with jeweled trim by Mandalay at the recent Los Angeles premiere of her new film, "Jumping The Broom."
The romantic comedy tells of two families from opposite sides of the social circle who get together for a wedding on the island of Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts. The movie also stars Laz Alonso, Paula Patton and Loretta Devine and was released on Friday, May 6.
Bassett, 52, plays the mother of the bride, who is portrayed by Patton and who is a New York corporate lawyer that has enjoyed a privileged upbringing. Bassett is also known for her roles in the television shows "ER" and "Alias" and movies such as "Malcolm X," "Waiting to Exhale," "Boyz n the Hood," "Meet the Robinsons " and "Vampire in Brooklyn."
