Near Alondra Blvd. in Santa Fe Springs, the hood of the tow truck came loose and opened, obscuring the female suspect driver's vision.
The suspect pulled to the shoulder, and as the truck continued rolling, she jumped out of the driver's side window. She ran down the shoulder in bare feet as officers chased her, then tackled her and arrested her.
Southbound lanes were closed briefly while officers investigated the scene.
