OTRC: Romeo says he was 'afraid to dance' before 'Dancing With The Stars'

Romeo and his partner Chelsie Hightower talk to OnTheRedCarpet.com after 'Dancing With The Stars' on May 10, 2011.

Rapper Percy "Romeo" Miller, Jr. impressed judges and fans by making it into the eighth week of "Dancing With The Stars" with his partner Chelsie Hightower, despite the fact that the rapper admit this week that he was always afraid to dance.

Spoiler Alert! However, just a day after dancing an Argentine Tango and a Salsa in the Instant dance which earned the couple a respectable 52 out of 60 points, Romeo and Chelsie Hightower were sent home on "Dancing With The Stars: The Results Show" on Tuesday.

"I'm just sorry I couldn't win this thing for her, I really wanted to do that for her this year," he told OnTheRedCarpet.com after the show. "That's one of those things, this year is really competitive and anybody can go at any given moment and tonight it was us."

Romeo has released three studio albums and is currently working on his long-awaited fourth album, "Intelligent Hoodlum," from which he released his first single, "Famous Girl (Remix)" last week. Aside from music, Romeo has also tried his hand at acting and basketball and this week, he admit that he has turned down roles do to his lack of dancing skills.

"I didn't say it at the beginning of this season, but I was always one of those kids that was afraid to dance, like I said, I turned down a lot of movies because of that and just having somebody come in there and teach me and have me more open-minded about dancing, definitely just helped me out in life in general."

Romeo was partnered with professional dancer Chelsie Hightower, who has danced with celebrity partners Ty Murray, Louie Vito, Jake Pavelka and Michael Bolton in past seasons of "Dancing With The Stars." The two bonded and Romeo credits God for putting them together.

"It's kind of hard not to fall in love with Chelsie, she's just a great girl. She's unlike any girl out there, she's kind of like one of the guys, she's just a lot prettier," Romeo said of his dancing coach. "I just want to thank her, this has definitely been a journey, and it hasn't been easy for me. She knew it wasn't easy and without her, I wouldn't be here. I think everything happens for a reason and she was the perfect fit for me. That's why I think I wasn't able to do season 2, God knew he wanted me to dance with Chelsie and that's what he did. I really believe he made magic this season."
