No one inside the house was hurt, but the crash resulted in a lot of structural damage as the car went right into the kitchen.
Felicia Cordoba, who lives in the home, was in the kitchen just moments before the crash. Luckily, her dog ran outside and she went after him.
The driver of the SUV tried to escape, but a neighbor stopped him long enough for sheriff's deputies to arrest him.
Cordoba said the crash felt like an earthquake.
Fire officials said five residents were displaced as a result of the crash. Building inspectors were expected to assess damage to the home.
