Sarah Ferguson, the UK's Duchess of York, says the elaborate hat that her daughter Princess Beatrice wore to the recent royal wedding of Prince William and Catherine is set to be put on eBay and auctioned off for charity.
Ferguson, 51, did not receive an invitation to the event. Beatrice, 22, and her other daughter Eugenie, 21, attended the wedding with their father and Ferguson's former husband, Prince Andrew.
"She's putting it up on eBay to auction it for UNICEF and for Children in Crisis," Ferguson said on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" on Wednesday, May 11.
The blush-colored hat was designed by Philip Treacy, People magazine reported, adding that his creations have cost as high as $3,300.
In the United Kingdom, fancy hats with giant decorations are often seen at high-profile events, church services and especially at weddings, especially those thrown by the royal family (see photos of the best hats at the royal wedding).
Ferguson appeared on the program to promote her new series "Finding Sarah," which premieres on Winfrey's OWN cable network on Sunday, June 12 at 9 p.m. ET.
