Bristol Palin says she did not have plastic surgery, but rather corrective jaw surgery, after photos of her appearing different were posted online.
The 20-year-old daughter of Republican politician Sarah Palin showed up at Candie's Foundation 2011 benefit gala and looked slimmer and boasting more defined cheekbones, promoting speculation she may have had cosmetic work done.
In the photos above, Bristol Palin is seen at her "Dancing With The Stars" performance on November 23, 2010 on the left, the White House Correspondents' Dinner on April 30, 2011 in the middle and at the Candie's Foundation gala on May 3, 2011 on the right."It's not plastic surgery," Bristol Palin told Us Weekly magazine, adding that she had "corrective jaw surgery" back in December 2010.
"Yes," she added, "It improved the way I look, but this surgery was necessary for medical reasons...so my jaw and teeth could properly realign. I don't obsess over my face. I am absolutely thrilled with the results. I look older, more mature, and don't have as much of a chubby little baby face!"
Bristol Palin has been a tabloid favorite ever since her mother's 2008 vice presidential campaign. At the time, Bristol Palin was pregnant with then-fiance Levi Johnston's son Tripp and later gave birth out of wedlock.
She later became a teenage pregnancy prevention advocate and has made personal and on-air appearances on behalf of the Candie's Foundation, whose mission statement is "to educate America's youth about the devastating consequences of teen pregnancy through celebrity PSA campaigns and initiatives."
Earlier this week, it was announced that Bristol Palin and her son are set to move in with fellow ex-"Dancing With The Stars" contestant Kyle Massey and his brother Christopher for a new reality show.
The BIO cable channel said in a statement to OnTheRedCarpet.com on Monday, May 9, that it has ordered 10 half-hour episodes of the series, which has yet to be named and which follows the single mother's journey from Alaska to Los Angeles and her work at a charity. The show is set to air later this year.
Palin and Massey, a 19-year-old actor, became "extremely close" while they appeared on the 11th season of "Dancing With The Stars" last year, the BIO channel statement said.
