Update: Kym Johnson's publicist sent an update on Johnson's condition."Kym Johnson was admitted to the hospital today immediately after falling and injuring her neck during practice," the spokesperson said.
"After several tests, she was cleared by the medical staff, though she is bruised, sore and currently wearing a neck brace. Kym plans to continue with Hines Ward in the competition and resume rehearsals as soon as possible."
Meanwhile, Johnson tweeted on Friday after her hospital stay to let fans know she was fine.
"Thank you everyone for your concern, love and support. I'm a little shaken up, sore but I will be fine," she wrote shortly after 6 p.m. PT. "I want to give a special thanks to everyone at Cedar Sinai. The Doctors,Nurses and Staff were so amazing."
Previous story: "Dancing With The Stars" professional dancer Kym Johnson was rushed to the hospital on Friday after she suffered an injury during a rehearsal on the set of the show, OnTheRedCarpet.com confirms.
Johnson, who is paired with NFL star Hines Ward for season 12, was sent to the hospital for precautionary reasons, according to her publicist.
"Kym injured herself during rehearsals today," Johnson's publicist said. "She was taken to hospital for precautionary measures, to assure she is ok."
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a call at 11:13 am PT and in a video posted on Entertainment Tonight, Johnson can be seen being put inside in an ambulance on a stretcher with a neck brace.
Ward and Johnson are one of the top couples on the reality show, regularly landing in first place during most of season 12. The two are in the semi-finals.
Injuries are not new to the "Dancing With The Stars" stage. Last week, Ralph Macchio suffered from a ruptured cyst in his knee. In the past professional dancers have been replaced when unable to perform with their stars. In 2009, during season 9 both Derek Hough and Lacey Schwimmer were unable to compete because of an illness and Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Anna Trebunskaya stepped in to dance for the week with their partners Joanna Krupa and Mark Dacascos.
In 2008, during season 7, Julianne Hough was hospitalized with appendicitis and Edyta Sliwinska stepped in to take her place and dance with Cody Linley.
"I probably need to get a little more daring," Johnson said to OnTheRedCarpet.com on May 10 after "Dancing With The Stars: The Results Show," when asked if she considered herself a daring person.
She also revealed that she and Ward were set to dance the Argentine Tango and the Salsa, in addition to a group competitive Cha Cha.
"I've got some interesting things up my sleeves and I won't disappoint. I'll try not to anyway," She said.
Ward added, "I know she's always going to push me. If that's what it takes for her to take us over the top, then so be it. My job is to just not let her down and whatever she choreographs I just gotta go out and execute it and wish for the best."
"The pressure is sort of way up here [she points her hand above her head] but it's good," Johnson said at the time. "We're ready for it."
