"Bones" is gearing up for its sixth season finale on May 19 and the cast and creator Hart Hanson offered up some spoilers and kept us guessing about whether fans can look forward to a Bones and Booth hooking up and the possibility of a baby in the near future.
Warning: Spoiler Alert!
"The last two episode of the season are pretty monumental," Emily Deschanel, who plays Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan, told OnTheRedCarpet.com host Chris Balish at a recent PaleyFest event for the show.
In fact, on Thursday's episode, "The Hole in the Heart," Jeffersonian intern Vincent Nigel-Murray died after being shot with a bullet intended for Booth. The loss of what Bones called her "favorite" intern caused Brennan to seek comfort in Booth's arms ... in his bed.
While it's unclear if the two characters finally ended the will-they-or-won't-they tension, Boreanaz hinted that there is some love in store for the two.
"I think the whole evolution of them and what's going to happen, I can't tell you, but it's gonna be a lot of fun," Boreanaz said.
"It's going to happen, but it's going to happen in a very smart way," he said. "I think the success of the show lays in the banter between the two of us, I mean, married couples banter all the time so you know, if it's to say where going to get married, which I highly doubt we will, that would be the way it would be possible to achieve something like that."
Deschanel added, "If Booth and Bones got together, it would completely change the dynamic of the show, I mean, absolutely, it's uncomfortable for me to even think about. Time will tell if that happens, I guess!"
Deschanel, is expecting her first child later this year with "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" actor David Hornsby and viewers are wondering whether the pregnancy will be written into the "Bones" script. Hanson addressed these questions.
"We have a lot of plans and a lot of scenarios to deal with - the actress being away for six weeks or so, how long can we go without her? And that's a big production decision and we're dealing with that now," Hanson told OnTheRedCarpet.com. "If we wanted to hide it, we could hide it. You know, it's been done before. But I'm not saying we're going to do that, but if we wanted to, we could."
"Bones" airs on Thursdays at 8 p.m. on FOX.
