The woman was struck by a pickup truck just west of Dune Palms Road at about 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Officials said she was not in a crosswalk.
She was taken to John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Indio, where she died. Her identity was not immediately released.
The driver of the pickup truck did not appear to be under the influence of alcohol and was not cited by Riverside County sheriff's deputies, said officials.
