OTRC: Maria Shriver appears on Oprah Winfrey's farewell show - See who else was there (Spoilers)

Maria Shriver appeared on Oprah Winfrey's farewell show in Chicago on Tuesday, the same day it was revealed her husband Arnold Schwarzenegger fathered a secret child more than 10 years ago with a member of their household staff.

Shriver, 55, went on stage at the United Center with Winfrey's best friend, Gayle King. She said Winfrey has "given me love, support, wisdom and most of all the truth," according to the Associated Press.

Shriver and Schwarzenegger announced last week that they had separated after 25 years of marriage. Schwarzenegger, 63, released a statement on Tuesday saying that he told his wife about the infidelity after he left office as California's governor earlier this year.

"I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family. There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused," Schwarzenegger said in a statement obtained by OnTheRedCarpet.com.

Shriver also issued a statement, saying: "This is a painful and heartbreaking time. As a mother, my concern is for the children. I ask for compassion, respect and privacy as my children and I try to rebuild our lives and heal."

Shriver didn't mention her husband during the double-taping of "Surprise Oprah! A Farewell Spectacular" on Tuesday.

Meantime, the Associated Press reports that Winfrey got a standing ovation from the 13,000 fans who attended the star-studded event, which included appearances by Madonna, Michael Jordan, Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Patti LaBelle, Jamie Foxx, Usher, Halle Berry, Queen Latifah, Dakota Fanning, Diane Sawyer and many others. Tom Hanks acted as host for the event.

Winfrey's longtime partner Stedman Graham introduced Aretha Franklin, who sang "Amazing Grace." Many other artists performed, including Beyonce, who sang "Run the World (Girls)" and Stevie Wonder, who sang "Isn't She Lovely" to Winfrey.

Winfrey announced in November 2009 that she would end the show after 25 years on-air to focus on the Oprah Winfrey Network, which she launched on January 1, 2011. Tuesday's taping will air May 23 and 24, before Winfrey's final show on May 25.
