Heather Morris, who plays dim0witted cheerleader Brittany on Fox's "Glee" donned a bikini on the June cover of Women's Health magazine and talked about how she fits in working out with the hit show's daunting schedule.
"Do whatever you like to do, eat how you want to eat, but just make sure you stay active," Morris told Women's Health. "I take a lot of exercise cardio classes. I do a ton of squats."
The 24-year-old got her start on the series when she was brought in to show the cast how to do the dance for "Single Ladies" after she performed as a backup dancer to Beyoncé on "Saturday Night Live" and the American Music Awards. She also competed on season two of "So You Think You Can Dance."
Morris made an immediate impression on the show's writers between takes and her small role was turned into a regular part.
"Between takes, Heather would do these hysterical impersonations," said Zach Woodlee, Glee co-producer and choreographer. "The writers began to latch on to her, and that's how Brittany came to be a speaking part."
Morris trained over the summer, taking vocal lessons, boxing and working with free weights to get in shape to portray Britney Spears for the "Britney/Brittany" episode of "Glee."
"I'm exactly like Brittany," Morris said of her character. "I love to dance, I like to have fun. I want to make everybody laugh."
The actress says that her favorite snacks include bananas and apples with peanut butter and Goldfish crackers. Her favorite workouts usually involve dance classes, ballet and cardio workout.
Morris also revealed that her boyfriend Taylor Hubbell doesn't like when the actress kisses other people for work, but doesn't mind if it's Artie (Kevin McHale) or Santana (Naya Rivera).
