Lindsay Lohan obtained a restraining order against a man who she says has shown up at her home and sent her bizarre text messages.

The temporary order, which was issued Thursday, bars David Cocordan from attempting to contact or meet the actress.

In a sworn declaration, Lohan said she was frightened of the 38-year-old man.

Court papers state that Cocordan believes he and Lohan are engaged. He has left her a box of chocolates and other items in the past.

In one text message, Cocordan claimed he was in the courtroom in April when the 24-year-old actress was sentenced to 120 days in jail.

Lohan's publicist did not want to comment on Lohan's security matters.
