Rows of stacked cars were ablaze as about 15 L.A. City firefighters hosed the flames.
The burning lot is located at 12301 Branford St. in Sun Valley.
L.A. Fire Dept. Spokesman Brian Humphrey said winds were light and would not significantly make the blaze worse. He also said there was no inordinate danger to the area from smoke, comparing the blaze to multiple car fires.
About 36 firefighters had the fire mostly extinguished by 4:45 p.m.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
