Laguna Beach Police arrested a suspect in a Monday afternoon bank robbery in the city.

Laguna Beach resident Bill Wright, 22, was arrested Tuesday morning in Laguna Hills on suspicion of robbing two banks, one in Lake Forest and the other in Laguna Beach.

An employee of US Bank at 310 Glenneyre St. reported the bank had been robbed at 4:22 p.m. Monday. Laguna Beach officers arrived at the bank within 43 seconds of the call, according to the department.

Employees said a white male came to one of the tellers with a note that indicated he was robbing the bank. The teller gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash, according to the department.

The suspect left the bank on foot and was seen fleeing southbound on 2nd St.

Employees described the suspect as a white male in his early 20s standing 5 feet 9 inches tall, with dark hair. He was wearing blue jeans, a dark-colored sweatshirt, white tennis shoes and an off-white-colored baseball hat. No weapon was seen or used during the robbery. There were no employee or customer injuries, according to police.

The suspect was recorded on surveillance video.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation was to assist in the investigation.
