A "Coke geyser" is the chemical reaction you get if you mix Mentos candy with Diet Coke.
The students gathered on the school's football field Friday for the world record breaking attempt.
Their goal was to set off a series of 3,000 "Coke geysers."
It was not clear if the group was successful at breaking the previous world record.
The students said this idea grew from a plan to put their small town on the map.
