Metro to offer free subway rides during July 405 Fwy closure

LOS ANGELES

Officials said free subway rides will be offered on the Red Line subway under the Hollywood Hills during the closure.

The 405 Freeway is being shut down starting the night of July 15 through the morning of July 18 to demolish a landmark bridge that stands in the way of a $1 billion widening project.

Metro also plans to run extra buses, although regular fares will be collected.
