A memorial service will be held Monday for an Irvine girl who died after the car she was riding in was hit by a suspected drunken driver.

The service for 14-year-old Ashton Sweet will be held at the Chinese Baptist Church of Central Orange County at 12012 Yale Court, next to Meadowood Park near Northwood High School, in Irvine at 5 p.m. It is open to the public.

Sweet was riding in a car with four other people last week when they were struck by the suspected drunken driver.

Three other teen girls were injured in the car, one critically, while the other two were hospitalized and released. One of the teens' father was driving the car and was not seriously injured.

The suspect in the case, Austin Farley, 36, has a history of alcohol-related arrests. He has pleaded not guilty.
