Police seek suspect in Victorville attempted child abduction

San Bernardino Sheriff's deputies from the Victor Valley Station responded to a report of an attempted abduction of a 6-year-old girl Monday at about 1:40 p.m.

The incident was reported at the Spring Valley Lake Country Club Beach in Victorville.

An unidentified 6-year-old girl went into a beach restroom alone. The girl told police the suspect followed her into the restroom and entered the stall she was in. The suspect allegedly grabbed the girl's arms and attempted to abduct her. The girl began screaming.

The suspect fled the restroom, and witnesses saw the man run to a red or maroon Toyota Tundra or similar vehicle and depart at a high rate of speed, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Dept.

Witnesses described the suspect as a Hispanic male adult in his 20s, with shoulder-length brown hair and a goatee or beard.
