Thousand Oaks store robbery suspect arrested

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif.

Simi Valley resident Louis Reyes, 18, is suspected of committing multiple retail store robberies from May 31 to June 3.

The suspect would allegedly enter a store to order food and wait for the employee to open the cash register, then grab cash from the drawer. The suspect struggled with the employee in some instances. The suspect would then flee on foot, according to police.

The suspect did not use weapons, according to police.

Thousand Oaks Police investigated the incidents and identified Reyes as the suspect. Police searched for the suspect in the cities of Thousand Oaks and Simi Valley. He was located and arrested in Thousand Oaks Monday at about 5:30 p.m.

Reyes was booked at Ventura County Jail on felony counts of robbery, attempted robbery, burglary and a misdemeanor count of being under the influence of a controlled substance.
