OTRC: Selena Gomez 'feeling much better' following hospitalization

Selena Gomez talks to OnTheRedCarpet.com at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, June 5, 2011.

Selena Gomez is "feeling much better" following her recent hospitalization and plans to perform in Santa Monica on Monday.

The 18-year-old pop singer was taken to a hospital for nausea and a severe headache following a "Tonight Show" appearance. Gomez rescheduled a performance at Santa Monica Place for June 13. The appearance is part of a mall tour to promote her new romantic comedy film "Monte Carlo," which is set for release on July 1.

"Feeling much better, thank you all for being so understanding," Gomez Tweeted on Monday. "Can't wait to see you all today at Santa Monica Place for the Monte Carlo kick off."

Gomez's ailment was not revealed. Her boyfriend, teen pop star Justin Bieber, used his Twitter page, following by some 10 million fans, to wish Gomez well and spread a potential trending topic, saying: #getwellselena.

Her fans also offered support and Gomez wrote on Facebook, "I just wanted to say thank you so much for all of the get well wishes. I love you guys so much."

"Monte Carlo" tells of three young women who visit Paris and end up in Monte Carlo after one of the girls, played by Gomez, is mistaken for a British heiress. The movie also stars "Gossip Girl" actresses Leighton Meester and Katie Cassidy as well as "Glee" actor Cory Monteith.

During her interview on "The Tonight Show," Gomez appeared to be in good spirits as she talked about "Monte Carlo" and also about how she obtained her driver's license six months ago. She said she has since gotten into an accident, hitting a pole with her car.

"I was very stressed and I reversed and I hit it," she said. "I was not texting, I was stressed. There were photographers following me so I got scared."

Gomez is also preparing for the big release of her third studio album, "When The Sun Goes Down" on June 28 and told OnTheRedCarpet.com at the MTV Movie Awards that she hopes her fans will be as inspired by her new music, as they were by her recently released single "Who Says."
