Two men have been charged over an alleged plot to harm and rob British singer Joss Stone, reports say.

Junior Bradshaw, 30, and Kevin Liverpool, 33, both from Manchester, were arrested earlier this week near the 24-year-old British soul and R&B singer's home. They were charged on Wednesday by Devon and Cornwall Police with conspiracy to commit robbery and conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm, the UK newspaper The Guardian reported.

The men have not commented. Bradshaw and Liverpool were ordered to appear in court on Thursday.

It was reported earlier that Stone was the target of an alleged murder and robbery plot.

"I'd like to thank everyone for their concern but I'm absolutely fine and getting on with life as normal while the police continue with their enquiries," Stone said in a statement to press outlets.

The singer has sold 11 million albums worldwide and is one of the United Kingdom's wealthiest contemporary artists.

BBC News quoted a police source as saying that the men were found with swords, plans of Stone's home and a body bag. They have not commented.

The suspects were nabbed after neighbors told police they spotted a suspicious-looking vehicle near her home. There are conflicting reports about whether Stone was at home at the time.

"She came here for a coffee on Tuesday afternoon and she was all right," Stone's neighbor, a farmer named Simon Alsop, told The Guardian. "It is quite scary really. I know the whole family well and they are very good neighbours. If Joss isn't working she is often here. Joss is never there on her own. She usually has a small entourage of friends."

The news comes more than a month before Stone is set to release her fifth studio album, "LP1." The record hits stores on July 26. Stone plans to promote her new music with appearances on U.S. talk programs such as "The Tonight Show" and concerts in Europe, starting on July 11.
