Palmdale woman sentenced in daughter's murder

LANCASTER, Calif.

Stacey Barker was found guilty in May. The 26-year-old claimed that she was knocked out back in March 2009 while putting her daughter into her car at a park in Lancaster.

She said her 18-month-old daughter, Emma, was gone when she woke up.

That story unraveled when cellphone records showed her in Los Angeles at the same time.

Barker later admitted the child was dead and led investigators to her body in a weedy lot in Sylmar. She claimed her daughter's death was accidental, but investigators say the child was suffocated.
