Costa Mesa drafting sex-offender park ban

COSTA MESA, Calif.

The city attorney is working on a proposal in response to a request from the Orange County District Attorney's Office, the Daily Pilot reported Thursday.

Orange County already prohibits registered sex offenders from county parks, beaches and harbors without written permission from the sheriff's department.

O.C. District Attorney /*Tony Rackauckas*/ is trying to convince cities in Orange County to adopt similar measures.

So far, Irvine and Westminster have adopted the ordinances.
