A tribute football game was held Sunday for a Costa Mesa police officer who was severely injured by a drunk driver.

Two women's flag football teams squared off at Santa Ana Stadium for the charity event.

The Santa Ana Hogs and the Long Beach Sirens played to help raise money for Dennis Dickens.

Dickens sustained brain damage and suffered several mini-strokes after he was struck by a drunk driver while riding his motorcycle in May 2004.

The single parent of two children has been unable to work since the accident.
