Rapper Tone Loc was recently arrested on suspicion of felony domestic violence after a reported fight with the mother of his child.
The 45-year-old, whose real name is Anthony Smith and who is famous for his raspy voice, and the woman in question have not commented publicly.He was detained for less than three hours behind bars near Los Angeles before he posted a $50,000 bond on Saturday evening, CNN said, quoting a police official as saying the incident involved a "physical altercation with the mother of his child."
Tone Loc rose to fame in the 1980s with the hits "Funky Cold Medina" and "Wild Thing," the latter of which was featured in the 1989 comedy film "Uncle Buck," which starred John Candy. In 2007, the rapper released a remix of the track, which featured artist Peaches.
Tone Loc has himself also appeared in movies. He played a police officer in the 1994 Jim Carrey movie "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" and voiced a character in the 1992 animated film "FernGully: The Last Rainforest." Tone Loc also has parts on television shows such as "NewsRadio" and "Yes Dear."
