A former Cal State University Northridge student has pleaded no contest to having a gun on campus.

David Everson was arrested in January, after bomb making materials and a gun were found in his dorm room.

Authorities searched the room after Everson made indirect threats against students and staff. Everson has been sentenced to three years probation and ordered into a six month residential mental treatment program.

As part of the plea, the remaining count of possession of ingredients to make a destructive device has been dismissed.
