Authorities responded to a robbery call at a jewelry store inside the mall at about noon. The suspect had asked to see a piece of jewelry, and then took off.
When the security guard gave chase, one of the suspects fired into the air. No one was injured.
The suspects fled with at least two diamonds in a late-model silver-gray Chrysler 300. They were last seen speeding down Santa Monica Boulevard.
