Although many of the "True Blood" stars tried to stay tight-lipped at the season 4 premiere screening in Los Angeles on June 21, some of the actors did dish some spoilers about the new season of the HBO hit series.
Warning: Potential spoilers ahead!
At the end of season three, Sookie Stackhouse discovered the truth about vampire Bill Compton's interest in her fairy heritage and was later transported to fairy world. Meanwhile her best friend Tara ditched Bon Temps after dealing with one too many supernatural beings.
"We've got a lot of elements, we've got a lot of things in the air this year," series star Stephen Moyer, who plays vampire Bill Compton, told reporters at the premiere. "I had very little to do with the witches, I do work with them a little bit and that been really fun. It's very new, something completely different. They have a power that we've never explored before. "
"I think that the tough thing for any writer that's doing a vampire show is to work out what is catnip and what is Kryptonite for the lead baddie, or the goodie - vampires," he added, "What is going to be something that can overpower them or something that is going to be attractive to them. So the witches are part of that element."
The fourth season of "True Blood" is said to loosely follow the event of the fourth novel in "The Southern Vampire Mysteries" series, which the show is based off of, called "Dead to the World." Creator Alan Ball told the audience at PaleyFest in March that it will be a while before Bill and Sookie reconnect.
Meanwhile Moyer's co-star and wife, Anna Paquin, didn't reveal much about her character for the new season to OnTheRedCarpet.com host Chris Balish, but said: "I'm really proud of this season and we've all worked really, really hard."
She added, "I'm so excited for everyone to finally see it so we can start talking about it and stop having to give these annoying interviews where I'm like, 'I can't tell you that!'"
What we do know about Sookie, from the first six minutes of the premiere HBO released earlier this month, is that she still in the mysterious fairy world. She runs into her grandfather Earl, played by "Office Space" star Gary Cole, who can't believe it has been there for 20 years. Sookie quickly discovers that just like Bon Temps, all is not well in the fairy world.
Actress Rutina Wesley, who plays Sookie's best friend Tara, says there's a lot more in store for her character than a new hairdo. "A lot of people just want to know what's going on with Tara, you know where did she go? What is she doing," she told Balish at the premiere. "I think she comes back way more Zen, she'd definitely found her feet. We're going to find out where she'd been."
