OTRC: Adele reschedules canceled concert dates after recovering from laryngitis

Adele performed 'Rolling Deep' on the 'Dancing With The Stars' stage on Tuesday, May 10, 2011.

Adele has rescheduled 14 performances on the sold-out North American leg of her tour and added six more to the itinerary after recovering from laryngitis.

Earlier in the month, the singer canceled the remaining dates on her tour after falling ill and being told she needed several weeks of "absolute voice rest."

Adele plans to re-launch her tour on August 9 in Vancouver, wrapping up on October 21 in Grand Prairie, Texas, MTV reports. Her added tour dates were scheduled for Las Vegas; Atlantic City, New Jersey; Durham, North Carolina; Orlando, Florida; Miami; and Spring, Texas.

Rockabilly singer Wanda Jackson will open for Adele's August tour dates, but not for the October performances.

"I'm really frustrated," Adele said in a statement after canceling her tour dates earlier in the month. "I was hoping with a week's rest I'd be better to sing again straight away. However, there is absolutely nothing I can do but take the doctor's advice and rest some more. I'm so sorry. See you soon, love Adele."

The singer met with a specialist in Los Angeles who told her that it was imperative that she take a few weeks off to recover with "absolute voice rest."

The 23-year-old Grammy Award-winning British singer is best known for her hit song "Rolling In The Deep." The song is featured on Adele's second studio album, "21," and entered the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart 20 weeks ago. More than 2 million digital copies of the song have been sold in the United States.

Adele's "21" has remained strong in the Billboard charts for over three months and remains the best-selling album of 2011.
