Orange County health officials said a bat found at Laguna Niguel Regional Park on Laz Paz Road tested positive for rabies.

Several other dead bats were discovered at that same park.

Authorities said bats have very small teeth and their bites may go unnoticed.

Health officials said once the signs and symptoms of rabies show up, the disease is almost always fatal.

The best option is to preventively treat anyone who may have been exposed.
