Shia LaBeouf is doing big press for the upcoming release of "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," which hits theaters on June 29, and in a new interview he dishes on an affair with Megan Fox, admits to a fling with another "Transformers" co-star, Isabel Lucas, and talks about his bad first date with Hillary Duff.
The 25-year-old actor reportedly gives an affirmative nod when asked by a Details magazine reporter if he and Megan Fox "hooked-up."
"Look, you're on the set for six months, with someone who's rooting to be attracted to you, and you're rooting to be attracted to them," he tells the magazine, without specifying a time. "I never understood the separation of work and life in that situation. But the time I spent with Megan was our own thing, and I think you can see the chemistry onscreen."
Fox married Brian Austin Green in June 2010, but the two had been involved in an on-and-off relationship since 2004. LaBeouf was asked if Fox was involved with Green at the time of their alleged hook-up and he reportedly replies by repeating "I don't know" 12 times before adding, "It was what it was." Fox's spokespeople had no comment on the story.
The actress caused a media storm when she declined to reprise her role in the third installment of the franchise, however in a recent GQ magazine interview, director Michael Bay said it was producer Steven Spielberg who suggested she get the ax after referring to Bay as Hitler.
In an earlier interview with the Los Angeles Times, LaBeouf suggested that Fox was uncomfortable being viewed as a sex symbol. "Mike films women in a way that appeals to a 16-year-old sexuality. It's summer. It's Michael's style. And I think [Fox] never got comfortable with it," he told the newspaper.
LaBeouf also tells Details magazine about a fling he had with another "Transformers" co-star, Isabel Lucas. The actress starred in "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" a college student named Alice who was really a robot.
The two were involved in a 2008 car accident that caused LaBeouf to break his left hand when his truck flipped over. LaBeouf was not a fault for the accident, but had his driver's license was suspended for one year because of his refusal to take a breathalyzer test after the accident.
LaBeouf says he and Lucas were "philandering around" when the accident occurred. Lucas was involved with "Entourage" star Adrien Grenier at the time. "Neither one of us, I think, were in love. Just sort of experimenting or whatever."
The actor also admits to going on a date with fellow Disney star Hillary Duff saying it was "probably the worst date either of us have ever had."
LaBeouf is currently involved with a student and stylist named Karolyn Pho, but he admits he still has feelings for his "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps" co-star and ex-girlfriend Carey Mulligan.
"I still love her," he tells Details. "I think she's a [expletive] awesome person and an incredible actress. We're still pals. I wouldn't take any of it back, and I don't think she would either. It just ran its course."
