One of Shia LaBeouf's biggest fans is apparently Selena Gomez, who appears flustered during an encounter with the "Transformers 3" star, as seen in a recent YouTube video.
The two are currently promoting their latest movies - LaBeouf, 25, reprises his role in "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," the third film in the franchise about robot aliens that was released on Wednesday, June 29, and Gomez, 18, appears in the romantic comedy film "Monte Carlo," which hits theaters on Friday, July 1.
The video was posted on Gomez's YouTube account on Tuesday, June 28 under the title "The best day ever." The actress, accompanied by several women, is seen walking into a hair and make-up room and appears to run into LaBeouf. Blurting out "Oh my gosh," she darts out quickly as he comes out of the room and says: "Hey, nice to meet you."
The two hug and pose for pictures. The strap on Gomez's sleeveless dress then falls. She fixes her outfit and is later seen in a room talking about the actor excitedly.
"Oh my gosh, he's so handsome!" she says. "I'm so embarrassed."
Gomez told People magazine in 2008 that she wanted LaBeouf, touted as her "celebrity crush," to appear on her Disney Channel show, "The Wizards of Waverly Place."
Gomez is currently dating teen pop star Justin Bieber. Gomez is also a singer and recently released her third studio album, "When The Sun Goes Down," as well as a new music video, "Love You Like a Love Song."
"Monte Carlo" tells of three young women who visit Paris and end up in Monte Carlo after one of the girls, played by Gomez, is mistaken for a British heiress. The movie also stars "Gossip Girl" actresses Leighton Meester and Katie Cassidy as well as "Glee" actor Cory Monteith.
In "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," the Autobots learn that an Apollo 11 moon landing mission in 1969 had found a wrecked alien robot spacecraft with no survivors during a secret mission on the dark side of the moon. They're forced to race against the evil Decepticons to find the ship and learn its secrets, leading to what could turn into the Transformers' final battle.
British Victoria's Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, 24, makes her acting debut by taking on the main female role of LaBeouf's love interest, replacing Megan Fox, 25.
LaBeouf recently told Details magazine, when asked if he and Fox "hooked up," "Look, you're on the set for six months, with someone who's rooting to be attracted to you, and you're rooting to be attracted to them. I never understood the separation of work and life in that situation. But the time I spent with Megan was our own thing, and I think you can see the chemistry onscreen."
Fox has not commented. She caused a media storm when she declined to reprise her role in the third installment of the franchise. In a recent GQ magazine interview, director Michael Bay said it was producer Steven Spielberg who suggested she get the ax after she compared Bay to Adolf Hitler.
In an earlier interview with the Los Angeles Times, LaBeouf suggested that Fox was uncomfortable being viewed as a sex symbol.
