Emily Maynard, who won the previous 15th season of the ABC dating reality show "The Bachelor," is reportedly in talks to become the next star of its spinoff, "The Bachelorette."
ABC declined to comment on the report, which was published by Us Weekly magazine.
"She hasn't officially signed on yet, but it looks like a done deal," a source told Us Weekly, regarding Maynard, a 25-year-old single mother of a 6-year-old child and an aspiring TV host. "She wants to be famous."
Previous female contestants on "The Bachelor" have gone on to headline "The Bachelorette." The star of the current seventh season is Ashley Hebert, who appeared with Maynard and main star Brad Womack on "The Bachelor."
Womack proposed to Maynard on the finale of the show, which aired in March. Last week, the two confirmed they had split and are no longer engaged.
Maynard opens up about their relationship in an interview with "Bachelor" host Chris Harrison that is set to air during a July 11 episode of "The Bachelorette."
