"She went under the water completely two or three times and I had to reach down and grab her by her shirt and pull her up," said rescuer Lou Rosso.
Rosso came home from the hospital Tuesday. He says he didn't think twice Monday when he saw a 10-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy, believed to be her brother, struggling in the water off Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Rosso says they were about 100 yards off shore. When he got to them, they pulled him under but he managed to continue pushing them toward shore.
A lifeguard and rescue unit on a personal watercraft soon arrived and pulled all three out of the water.
