Despite the fact that the "Wonder Woman" show was axed by NBC before it even went to air, American audiences will still get to see Elizabeth Hurley on the small screen this fall.
The actress is set to guest star on a multi-episode arc of "Gossip Girl," according to TVLine. Hurley will play a media mogul named Diana Payne. "Diana's entrance on the Upper East Side will change the lives of all our characters -- including, and especially, Gossip Girl herself," the show's executive producers Stephanie Savage and Joshua Safran told the site on Tuesday.
Hurley is known for her roles in movies such as "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery" and "Bedazzled". She was cast as a villain in the NBC pilot "Wonder Woman," which was produced earlier this year but was ultimately dropped.
Hurley is set to appear in the 2012 horror movie "High Midnight" with Rachael Leigh Cook and Vincent D'Onofrio.
The actress recently divorced from Indian businessman Arun Nayar. The divorce was finalized on June 15 at a London court. The two married in March 2007 at an English castle and Elton John gave the bride away. They later had a traditional Hindi wedding in India.
The 46-year-old British actress filed for divorce in April, citing what she called Nayar's "unreasonable behavior." He has not commented.
In December 2010, Hurley said on her Twitter page that she and Nayar had separated several months earlier. She has since been romantically linked to Australian cricket player Shane Warne.
