Taylor Swift has postponed some of her concerts in the United States because she has bronchitis.

The 21-year-old country and pop singer began a world tour earlier this year following the release of her "Speak Now" album.

"Just wanted to update you guys on Taylor's health," a message Swift's Facebook page read on Wednesday, June 6. "She has bronchitis and although she is getting better, she has been advised by her doctor that she is not well enough to perform this week."

"Her concert dates in Charlotte and Atlanta have been rescheduled and she plans to resume the 'Speak Now' tour in Montreal," the message said. "Thank you for your concern!"

Swift said on her Twitter page on July 2 that she had to postpone a concert set to take place in Louisville, Kentucky that day to October, adding: "This is my first time having to do this. I'm so, so sorry."

Swift, a multiple Grammy winner, has sold more than 31 million digital track downloads and 17 million albums.
