Justin Timberlake has accepted his invitation to attend the Marine Corps Ball in November, with the encouragement of his "Friends with Benefits" co-star Mila Kunis, who has already accepted an invitation.
Virginia-based female Marine, Kelsey De Santis asked Timberlake to accompany her to the Marine Corps Ball on November 12 in Washington D.C. and said in her video, "If you can't go, all I can say is cry me a river." At a recent press conference promoting his upcoming romantic comedy, Timberlake was asked if he would accept the servicewoman's invitation to the ball and the actor said, "I'll tell you what, I accept."
"But not because she shouted out one of my songs, which I do love," he joked. "And not because she had all those beefcake military guys behind her to intimidate me."
Timberlake said that he accepted the invite because he was flattered to be asked.
"I don't get asked out -- ever," Timberlake said. " So I was very flattered by that... If my schedule works out to do it, I'd love to do it. It's an honor."
Timberlake and Kunis were promoting "Friends with Benefits" in a Fox News interview last week when the actor encouraged Kunis to accept a YouTube invitation from Marine Sgt. Scott Moore to attend the Ball with him.
"You need to do it for your country," Timberlake told Kunis during their Fox News interview.
When Kunis asked Timberlake if he was going to come, the actor said, "They don't want me! They want you."
Kunis returned the favor in their press conference, telling her co-star that he had to "do it for your country."
Timberlake and Kunis will be seen in "Friends with Benefits" when the film hits theaters on July 22. Check out the trailer for the film and see Kelsey De Santis' invite and the actor's reply below.
