A female San Diego County Sheriff's Department detective was arrested for allegedly obstructing a rape investigation.

Authorities say Lauren McAllister, 37, tried to keep police from finding and arresting Matthew Frembling after a woman reported that he sexually assaulted her.

McAllister lives in a gated community in Temecula. Investigators went to her home and arrested Frembling.

The alleged rape happened in Riverside County. Frembling, 34, is a Murrieta resident.

Reports say McAllister resisted when investigators arrived at her home looking for the suspect. Investigators will not say what kind of relationship the two may have had.
