This week at the movies, Justin Timberlake is getting extra friendly with Mila Kunis and a super soldier is kicking some serious butt in the name of the USA in "Captain America: The First Avenger."
In this 3D big screen adaptation of the Marvel Comics classic, Chris Evans plays a tiny, wimpy soldier turned beefcake fighting machine through a government experiment. Now, he must use his new abilities to strike down the HYDRA organization and its evil leader, Red Skull.
The Reel Deal: As far as this now very tired genre goes, "Captain America" is right up there with "Thor" from earlier this summer. It's no "Spider-Man," it's no "Iron Man," but it's solid, watchable, and if you're not completely burned out on 3D comic book movies at this point, this one's worth checking out. I'm in.
Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis are just "friends with benefits."
In the aftermath of a string of failed relationships, Timberlake and Kunis decide they're through with love. So why not enjoy a few rolls in the hay together without any emotional baggage? As always, it's easier said than done.
The Reel Deal: Well, if you missed "No Strings Attached" a few months ago, here it is again. "Friends with Benefits" is better than " No Strings Attached," but it's still cliché, feels dated and is kind of like casual sex - You'll feel a little empty afterwards, but hey, it's better than nothin'. I'm in.
Opening in limited release, there's "Another Earth" and "Life in a Day," which is one day told through the videos posted by 80,000 YouTube users and it's pretty awesome. Check that one out.
