An Orange County Superior Court judge rescheduled Friday's arraignment of 48-year-old Catherine Kieu to Sept. 23 and set bail at $1 million.
Kieu has been charged with torture and aggravated mayhem with sentencing enhancements for great bodily injury and personal use of a knife.
Authorities said Kieu spiked her 60-year-old husband's meal on July 11, then tied him to the bed and attacked him with a 10-inch kitchen knife as he woke.
Kieu's husband had filed for divorce in May after 16 months of marriage. Authorities say she was moving her things out of his Garden Grove condo.
Prosecutors allege the attack may have followed an argument over house guests.
The husband has since been released from the hospital.
