San Diego Co. wildfire 100 percent contained

A wildfire that blackened more than 22 square miles in a remote area of northeastern San Diego County is now 100 percent contained.

A wildfire that blackened more than 22 square miles in a remote area of northeastern San Diego County is now 100 percent contained.

State fire officials said there was no more activity and remaining crews are patrolling the perimeter and mopping up.

Investigators believe an arsonist started the fire July 21. The blaze burned at the Los Coyotes Indian Reservation and Anza Borrego Desert State Park.

Officials said the cost of fighting the fire has topped $15 million.
