Camarillo man arrested for robbing car seller

CAMARILLO, Calif.

The robbery victim apparently sold the suspect the car at the beginning of July. The suspect, later identified as 20-year-old Luis Hernandez, was apparently upset that the car he had bought needed repairs. He tracked down the seller July 14 in the 1000 block of Piñata Street and brandished a gun, demanding money.

Oxnard Police Department investigators pinpointed Hernandez as the man behind the armed robbery and obtained a search warrant for his residence in the 2100 block of E. Daily Drive in Camarillo.

Friday, Hernandez was arrested at his home without incident. He admitted to detectives he threatened the victim and demanded money from him. He was booked into the Ventura County Jail for robbery.
