In a motion filed Monday opposing reduced bail for 29-year-old Louie Sanchez, prosecutors allege Sanchez committed four separate assaults on opening day.
He allegedly threw a soda at a woman, then ran up to a group of young Giants fans and swung a fist at one, then approached Bryan Stow and his friends.
He allegedly punched two of Stow's friends before punching Stow in the head.
Stow's friends, who are paramedics, said Stow lost consciousness immediately and fell sideways to the ground without breaking his fall. When Stow's head hit the ground, his friends saw his head bounce on the concrete. Sanchez then allegedly kicked the unconscious Stow several times in the head.
Stow, a 42-year-old Santa Cruz paramedic and a father of two, remains hospitalized at San Francisco General Hospital.
Because of the new documents presented on Monday, Sanchez's attorney, Gilbert Quinones, requested the bail reduction hearing to be extended to August 10, the same day as arraignment for Sanchez and Marvin Norwood, the other suspect in the case.
"I think if they're going to make allegations, they should at least give me enough discovery to confirm whether these allegations were actually made or not," Quinones said in court.
Sanchez attorneys are asking for his $500,000 bail to be reduced. Norwood made a similar request, but it was denied, A judge cited "the seriousness of the charges" and indications he would be a threat to public safety if released.
Sanchez and Norwood, both from Rialto, were arrested on July 21 and charged the next day in connection with the March 31 attack.
In another development in the case, Los Angeles Police said one of the witnesses to the Stow attack has died. Police say Stow's friend, 26-year-old Matthew Lee of Brentwood, died over the weekend from an allergic reaction after eating a peanut.
"It was not a Dodger fan thing. It was just a thug thing," said Lee in April about the attack.
"While we are saddened by his passing, it in no way impacts our investigation," LAPD Officer Karen Rayner said. "The prosecution is moving forward unabated."
