Linda Evangelista wants Salma Hayek's husband, French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault, to pay her $46,000 a month in child support, amid reports that he may be the father of the supermodel's 4-year-old son, reports say.
The parties have not commented. Evangelista, 46, filed the request at a New York court on Monday, August 1, the magazines People and Us Weekly reported.
News that the supermodel was trying to reach a child support agreement surfaced in July, when Evangelista attended a meeting at a New York court. Pinault did not make an appearance but one of his attorneys participated in a conference call with the supermodel's lawyer. According to court records, attorneys for both parties have been summoned to a court meeting in mid-September.
Evangelista has never publicly revealed the identity of the father of her son, Augustin James, who was born on Oct. 11, 2006 in New York City. Her spokesperson has repeatedly denied reports that have suggested Pinault is the father.
Pinault, the 49-year-old CEO of luxury goods company PPR, which owns Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, has three confirmed children, a 3-year-old daughter with Hayek,44, and a son and daughter from a previous first marriage.
Pinault met Hayek in Venice in May of 2006, months after Evangelista's son was conceived, and in March 2007, the two announced that the actress was pregnant and that they were engaged. They welcomed their daughter, Valentina Paloma, on September 21 of that year.
In July 2008, the two announced they had split and called off their engagement. They reconciled several months later and married on Feb. 14, 2009 - Valentine's Day - in Paris. They had a second, larger wedding on April 25 of that year in Venice, where they met.
