Peacock returns home after drawing crowds in NYC

NEW YORK CITY

The escaped peacock was seen sitting on a window ledge of a ritzy Fifth Avenue condo, and crowds of people stopped to stare, fascinated by the fowl.

The 2-year-old peacock escaped from the Central Park Zoo.

Someone set up a Twitter account for supposed tweets from the peacock, including "I escaped the zoo because I was sick of the tourists."

The peacock flew back home to the zoo on Wednesday morning.

This isn't the first fugitive from a New York zoo. A cobra escaped from its cage at the Bronx Zoo in March, but it was found six days later.
